Chinese New Year 2009

As usual, during Chinese New Year, we visit our relatives, our relatives visit us, the unmarried ones get ang pow, we makan and makan non stop and most importantly, the family reunion dinner. The best part is, we, as the 'kids' get most of the fun, the ang pows and the food. For your information, my dad has 9 siblings and most of the them are married and has kids. I can't imagine all of them hogging up the space at my uncle's house. Maybe they'll fill up the living and the dining room. Usually, when my cousins and I was a kid, during the family reunion dinner in Perak, the adults will sit at the huge round table and we, the 'kids' will sit at the small wooden table beside the big table. And the adults will have their 'adult' talk and we children will have the 'children' talk. Well, that was years ago.

Sunway Lagoon Theme Park

Sunway Lagoon Theme Park

Went to Sunway Lagoon with Li Ann, Wei Mund, Jien Shen, Andrew and his brother during the last year end holidays. We went for the dry and wet park and it cost me RM38 (20% off when you bring your MyKad). It was really fun because we actually tried out every single ride at there except for the Merry-Go-Round ride (under aged) and the Pirate Ship (I can't stand any 360 degree ride). So we started off with the slide rides at water park. You should've seen the 4 idiots carrying two large doughnut shaped floats uphill while trying not to topple them over.

"Eh, what is this? How to carry them uphill?"
"Aiyo... Just carry them lar... Use your hands and carry them."
"Eh... How ar? Wanna hold it sideways or what?"

"Aiyah... Anything also can lar."

A few minutes later...

"Eh, tired lar... When are we going to reach?"
"Yalor... So long wan... My leg also tired ledi lar..."
"Aiyah... Exercise a bit only mah... Loose some fats."

After a few minutes of hardwork, we finally reach to the top. So we rode 2 out of the three slides at one time. And by the way, Andrew and his brother paid for both parks but they didn't ride most of the wet rides because they didn't bring extra clothes. But so what? The clothes can dry off later but they are missing out the fun!

Me and Wei Mund sliding down. Whoosh!

Everyone had a really wet splash.

Next stop: The Beach Surf

The so called 'beach' was actually made up of cement, sand and other substances which are hard. Talking about the sand, I felt the sand was actually made up of crushed pieces of concrete mixed with some cement. Terrible huh? But the good part was we get to swim along the beach until we reach the area where the surfers surf a.k.a the deeper part of the beach a.k.a where the safety ropes were. We played with the sandballs and went under the mushrooms for a splash. My pocket was filled with sand after someone or more that someone hit me with a sandball. I kept wondering whether they repainted the mushrooms or not? It still looked the same after 10 years.

Raindrops keep falling on my head....

It looks like we were running for something.
Freedom.

Next, we went to the 'kiddy slide' made up from pure cement a.k.a hard surface. Looks like I got a problem with cement. But that's not really the point.

Lesson learnt no.1: Do NOT under estimate mini slides like this slide.

Like Li Ann said,

She cut her elbow.
Wei Mund knocked her ankle.
Jian Shen catapulted head forward onto the pool floor.
And I ... came out alive, unscratched. (lucky thing)

So, we decided to go to the dry park after all the fun we had without Andrew and his brother. Kesian them lar... We took a picture with a pink bird first. Why is the Pink Bird holding someone's cup of drink?

Talking about waiting, you have no idea how long was the queue for every water slide rides and dry park rides. Lucky thing we came early in the morning so that we don't have to queue for the slide rides. I think we nearly spent one eighth of our whole time queing for all the rides. Oh, and by the way, did I tell you what happened during the Teacup ride? Okay, the story begin when we wanted to go for the harmless and minor Teacup ride. Little we didn't know what was going to happen to us due to our enthusiasm. So we sat on the harmless and seatbelt-less ride. When the platform started spinning, we started spinning the cup itself too. And at the end of the day, we got the biggest headache in our lives due to the over-spinned Teacup ride. Watch the video and you'll understand. To watch the video, click HERE.

Lesson learnt no.2: Do NOT ever under estimate any minor and harmless looking rides especially the Teacup Ride.
